I have another configuration now, so I cannot test hardy's usplash.
There have been added several new "dialogs" in usplash i.e. when testing a
device for errors. Maybe there is also a new "dialog", when another encrypted
partiton than root needs a password. Is somebody able to test this easily?

Gutsy and, IMHO, is not wanted behaviour. Reading my initial comment, I

I am experiencing this problem with a Hardy Heron Beta install as well.
Esp. while playing a 3D MMORPG (regnum online) the keyboard locks up

Running most up to date Hardy and can confirm the bug isn't fixed. I
have no ntfs partitions, just 1 root partition and 1 home partition. The
process that uses 50% cpu is nautilus, nothing else even comes close
including any gvfs processes.

I had this problem with an NVIDIA GForce 6200, and when I removed
xserver-xgl I was not getting 3D effects. Then, I changed to this
setting in xorg.conf:
Option "Composite" "1"
and I was able to enable effects. So far so good!

I don't know how I could have ended up with mismatched kernel and
modules - if so, how do I fix it? I started at alpha 5 and have been
doing the regular updates, I didn't roll my own kernel at any point.

I have a dell precision laptop with a nvdia quadro fx 1400, the correct
driver was not loaded. The nvidia drivers were all geoforce and a single
legacy. It loaded nvidia_new and although it was able to show 1900*1200,
the advanced visual effects were not available.

i have installed sun java se 6 and gcj java but firefox doesn`t see
