the same happend to me with the german language packages at first, when
that one was deleted for all the other language packages except the
english. it doesn't really solve the problem, but i deleted all other
language packages until the english one was remaining, then everything

Don't have a SIGSEV as far as i know... But similar problems after
updates (Hardy beta amd64).
The problem: WLAN does not work with network-manager 0.6.6-0ubuntu2

When i run the "lshw -class network" command it prints:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ sudo lshw -class network

and then holds there until i hit "ctrl+c" to cancel the opperation. I do not
know if adding this information will help but here is some more information

I got it working.
How ?
Just boot, go into suspend-to-ram (not disk), and then wake up !
This way, I got brightness buttons working. Seems it doesn't afect the others,
but it might be a good clue ...

I have the same problem on a Intel Extreme Graphics 855 GM card. The
laptop worked fine in Gutsy even with compiz. With Hardy beta and
compiz is off, it works fine. The Screens and Graphics says "none" for
graphics driver. If I change it to i810 it won't work. If I change it
to Intel - Experim
The bug exists on Hardy Heron Beta when booting up from LiveCD. When it
happens, neither keyboard nor mouse does not working. Of course, disabling
compiz is only the way.
