Just confirmed: the problem is specific to the "Folder" type. Regular
files do not have this problem.
I think the difference haso do with the fact that folders always at
least one "Open With" action (if you right click on a folder >
Properties > Open With, you can see it, it's Open Folder) and thi
cups-pdf should output PDF files to ~/PDF as defined in /etc/cups/cups-pdf.conf

I changed it to:
export XAUTHORITY=/home/jeremiah/.Xauthority
And GNOME actually booted.

I took me 3 minutes to select my location (Amsterdam) on the worldmap.
The scrolling is not going smoothly at all, so the accuracy is very low,
