I have a GeForce 8500 GT (10de:0421) with DVI and VGA output
and use the VGA output.
No output from kernel start to X start (which means for the install

For some reason the fix to hal seems to have broken my wireless lan connection
(Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection (rev 02) on

I've run into the same thing as well. A few minutes upon logging in
after a fresh boot, my laptop fans are running at full speed. If I look
at 'top' I see hald-addon-inpu using 100% CPU utilization. I have to
manually kill it, then the fans slow down.

Ok, I'm marking this as invalid as you cannot reproduce the bug, I am
fairly certain that this is fixed in hardy and you would not be able to
reproduce the bug using those images, however, if you run into this bug

This shouldn't be an issue anymore in Hardy. We have completely new
script for catalog backup. I would suggest testing it, but you'll get
hit by bug #204145.

Missing /opt/share and /usr/share/cups/model are no problem. These are
only alternative places to search for PPDs for CUPS. They are not needed

Well, that last one messed up the filesystem on the device (not to
mention the HDD since the machine would not even reboot due to being
unable to umount the mp3 player (device busy).
So I tried to test again with the manual mount, but the filesystem is
