I can confirm this. I am not sure now which packages causes it but it is
not an only compiz problem since it appears with the vesa driver too. I
am going to test another desktop like fluxbox or something like that. I

Bryce, the .deb prevents the gnome-settings-dameon crash with radeonhd.
What is the preferred option...downlevel gnome-settings-daemon or
disabling xrandr plugin via gconf-editor and using the newer gnome-
settings-daemon file? Operationally, it does not make much difference

triggering a core dump in the kernel? If you don't have apport, then
you'll still get core dumps onto your disk. IMHO you should install a
signal handler and properly _exit() extractd if it gets such a signal

is. Hardware Manager is apparently not the proper place to look.

When I try using my C4100 from hp, I get the following error by configuring

I can reproduce the bug in amarok 1.4.7 (Ubuntu 7.10). When I play a
song, pause it in the middle, exit amarok and restart it, then the song
starts from the beginning (and I have to manually play it). Waiting for
