I don't think this is likely to happen, because you have to do a lot of ugly
hacking to get the mentioned ooo-2.3.1-hardy-package compiled on gutsy.
You'll need to backport a whole bunch of other packages, or make use of
internal copies (hsqldb-1.8.0.9, which requires a newer java-g

Is there a way to charge my video display, so that the bug will probably
come along?
I would be happy to try it out even in Hardy, but the problem is that
the bug is very "unreliable", and I don't want to use Hardy all day, and
I can't reproduce the freeze by hand.

NVidia freezes with "no vid
No problems here, i can switch between xorg running nvidia binary driver,
and my terminals without problem. Never had any problemswith usplash booting
up/shutting down either. The only thing that i havent tried would be
suspend, as this is on a big honking workstation rather than a laptop.

Ted, I tried it and now the brightness is dropped when the system is
left idle, but when I resume work it drops to minimum :)
Also, AC plugged in the settings have no meaning, ie. it doesn't set the
brightness to the level that's on the capplet, but maybe 30% more than
