When we first set up the samba client connection we used smbfs (old habit).
This resulted in a large number of random IO errors (including the "premature
end of data segment" errors).

I can confirm this bug on another machine: Toshiba Tecra M2 laptop with
Nvidia Geforce Go5200 card. Using internal laptop display and external
VGA monitor.
The normal desktop effects are enabled under System -> Preferences ->
Apperance. When I open Firefox, press F11, and press Alt-tab to switch
UPDATE: After last nights upgrade to Hardy Alpha 6 I can confirm that
this is still an issue.
Insert DVD or DVDr>Open Mplayer> Right Click screen> Select DVD> Error

I often have to mount flash drives having russian symbols in file names.
KDE4 doesn't seem to honour the utf8 mount option always.
This is an example of an incorrectly mounted one (This SD card is mounted
through WM5Storage from a wm based pda)

This could be related to signal quality, most laptops have their
wireless antenna's built into the lid. When you close the lid you are
changing your signal from vertical polarity to horizontal, when you have
mismatched polarity the 2 units (laptop and AP) won't be able to talk to
each other.

Before I reinstalled my OS, my VPN connection was fine. As wel as with the
