If INTEL_BATCH enables greater concurrency, bugs can be really difficult
to be traced. We will probably never have a deadlock in 99% of cases,
but some unlucky guy with a specific configuration, or us in 1% cases,

splash screen for ages. Removing the splash screen via grub fixes the
problem. This happens from alpha4 (don't know if it could have happened
before, because i was using gutsy).

I have attached the screenshot of the problem.
It somehow affects QT4 in the same way (at least on Gnome desktop).
Also, changing hinting in Appearance-> Fonts doesn't change the
appearance of gnome-terminal fonts, you may set even Monochrome, font
still remains the same blurry

Binary package hint: displayconfig-gtk
When I failed to get my TV on my laptop, after a reboot GDM wouldn't
come up. Instead I was presented with displayconfig-gtk, but in a
resolution that rendered the fontsize about 3 pixels high. I couldn't
read any option I was presented

Right, I can confirm, too.
I think it is caused by Consolas having certain letters slightly wider or close
to the horizontal advance space . If you look at the artifatcs, they seem to
correspond to the fringes that fall outside the cursor while it is over the At
sign, e.g.

People can accidentally press 'delete' and delete files accidentally
