In previous Hardy alphas suspend worked well, but nowdays the same bug occurs
as in Gutsy. When i select suspend, the system goes to suspend, black screen is
coming, the computer goes to power off, then the system immediately wakes up,
then the login screen appears.

I can also report this bug with evince 2.20.1 using poppler 0.6.2 on ubuntu

The problem appears only when selecting diacritics characters, like Romanian:
ş,ţ,ă,î,â. Some random blind-selection (like showing selected a void area
instead of text) also appears, but only in files with that ch
I have now been using the drm modules from git with 2.6.24, and
everything has worked just fine. The native suspend/resume of the intel
driver (which was merged in 2.6.25) might be the reason for all I know.
I'm quite certain now that the bug cannot be fixed in intel driver, but
rather in the drm

After a clean install of Gutsy, I ran into this same problem. I tried
the fix that Henriël_Veldtmann suggested, and after about 2 weeks, I

to install of the alternate cd. In all honesty this is a huge bug, i

The same problem here. And since I use network-manager to connect via my vpn
connection,
the problem is huge. Yes I know that I can manually connect via pptp, but the
problem appeared

a workaround (working in my setup) to stop calling ldap for local system
users and groups:
add this line to /etc/ldap.conf (adapt it to your setup):
nss_initgroups_ignoreusers
