When booting the live cd 'hardy haron alpha 4' on an powerbook g3
without options, I get a small bar showing variuous blues and fading to
white. When using the option video=ofonly, this problem goes away, but
then I'm dropped in to a shell (probably because of ide_core not

I was able to solve my broken ACPI tables by decompiling and fixing the
DSDT.
The frequency field for the 600 MHz state was 0, hence the line in dmesg:

Unfortunately, there's little we can do about it. You should report this
to NVIDIA by using the 'nvidia-bug-report.sh' script. The default
xorg.conf contains a _lot_ of stuff that is not needed with current
xservers.

This problem seems to be resolved by the 2.6.24 kernel (info from the driver
dev and Tim Gardner).
I followed this post's instructions to install a more recent kernel under
Gutsy.
