In commit-email.pl, you have to either have a mailer configured:

to selectively disable screensavers with gnome-screensaver. I don't
know why the obvious hasn't been pointed out:

is because I had accidentally truncated my meta-release file, which I
had to create manually because it wasn't included in any package at the

For the record, I experienced this exact symptom. It appears to be a
permissions issue since there was a *.desktop file owned by root in
~/Desktop. Removing this file fixed the bug.

I have version 2.3.0 installed right now (went to writer and about open
office). As far as I know this is the latest version you can get through
any of the common (and some not so common) repos that I have on my
computer. As far as uploading a file, unfortunately I can't do this
without permissions
