I was having the same problem, and after doing some poking around on my
system, I found it to be the wine/crossover office installed plugins
that were installed. after removing them, firefox ran fine again.
Hope that was insightful to others who are still experiencing the problem.

Hello all, I'm a long time linux user but recently installed Ubuntu. I

Final Considerations :
In my test all items are marked as "lock" to the panel. But it's not fine, the
same problem.
I think that gnome-panel only retain correct order in expand and not expand
panel as first time, but if you change one to another then all items are
relocated in different positio

Has anyone tried this with the final Gutsy?
I have a fresh Gutsy install configured for remote login with xinetd
(not simply starting vncserver with a user) and all I get is a grey
window with the mouse cursor.
No matter what I do, I don't get a Gnome login screen, let alone a
working desktop.
