The Ubuntu Server wants to enable PAE while booting.
But e.g. VirtualBox does not support PAE, so it does not load.
I could not even install edubuntu server, because it hangs when

Ok, now it's working but I had to select in the Volume Control, Edit >
Preferences, check "Digital input source" and then select "Digital Mic
1" under Options tab.
Now it's working the digital mic and also the analog input :)

With "acpi=off noapic nolapic" boot options the problem dissapears. The

I've just got into this problem after changing mobo&processor (Core 2 Duo 4500,
Abit IB9). The drive is an ATAPI-one (no SATA, HDD is on the second controller).

The tittle is correct. When you put a disk in to the drive and xine
starts up automatically, it produces choppy video as if libdcss2 isn't
installed. Capturing the command Removable Drives and Media pannel
gives no output indicating that libdecss isn't being used when a disk is
