Seems that Bespin does not link against libXrender.so, but it should. I've
attached a patch to add libXrender.so to the list of libraries to link against
and tested that it fixes your FTBFS.

Thomas Frederiksen's fix (vesafb module) worked for me. I am on Ubuntu
Gutsy AMD64 with an NVIDIA 8800 GTS card (using the proprietary driver).

This occured to me, too, when I used do-release-upgrade to upgrade from
gutsy to hardy. At the very least better error messages would be nice -
I was doing this on an EC2 instance, and when /etc/init.d/networking
created no error messages on the console whatsoever, it was very
difficult to debug.

up tons of stuff on other sound issues, but none like this. even if I
pause the video until it completes downloading it will still "skip"

I got an error from apport, that firefox is not genuine Ubuntu package. The
cause of crash was most likely flash, but the bug can be easily reproduced by
