I'm running gutsy, 2.6.22-14 kernel, gnome 2.20.1.
I think this might actually be a bug in compiz. I just checked this behavior
with visual effects disabled, and it doesn't seem to happen. Should I post

relates to the desktop effects issue and that relates to driver and all
of those issues just prove that the thing needs to be fixed, so in my

I then removed the flash plugin, restarted, and brought firefox back up.

If I understand this correctly, the problem is that when Compiz is some
applications crash, among them braid and some other screensavers. So far
it has only been reported with the proprietary NVIDIA driver ("nvidia")
and the Intel driver ("intel"). Does anyone have solid information that

I confirm that SFTP is extremely unstable in nautilus. I get this same crash
after any file system change.
Basically I am stuck using bash ssh and scp. Very crippling to anyone who
relies on remote server access.
Please let me know if you need any additional information.

I could again, but it took several minutes of trying. Maybe it is
related to the fact that thumbnails seem to move a bit during they are
being drawn sometimes. How can I take benefit of evince-gtk-dbg to
determine where the bug is?

Nope. I reverted back and it didn't help.
I noticed that when I go to the console and press Super+F1 I get
switched to TTY1 just the same as if I pressed ALT+F1. I'm not sure
whether this is how things should work.
I upgraded another box of mine to ...12ubuntu8.3 and the keys didn't

When I try to open a console or command line program (Konsole, etc), I
see the window for maybe 0.5 seconds. After that, the window closes
automatically, so I can't type anything.
How do I solve it?

When I go to System > Preferences > Sound and press test (no matter
