I'm totally unable to reproduce this. It looks like clamtk is not
capturing and processing a Perl error as it should. I'd recommend you

OK, nv driver seems to work on 64 bits - clicking on Test produced the
screen just as it should look.
I go a whole bunch of problems though:

The screensaver just draws to the screen, so if that makes the machine
crash, it is a graphics driver problem. Anyway, to reduce the damage, we

Oh, forgot to mention that I'm a victim as well. I use the xorg radeon drivers,
so it's not something to do with it being proprietary drivers.
I crash on the second time after alt+tabbing, but after restarting emerald (and
not compiz) it doesn't seem to happen anymore. Can't be 100% sure, though.

If you dont want to UPgrade many packages, you could allways DOWNgrade
the dri and glx Drivers. You will find these packages at
http://packages.debian.org/etch/libs/ . The packages from here

Apparently, the mentioned folder disappears after a reboot. Strange
thing is that simple stopping and starting the server does *not* remove
the folder, but as mentioned, a reboot does remove the folder.
So, it was not sufficient to create and set rights to the folder once.
