I have the same results as Daniel Botelho, using Ubuntu Gutsy (both i386
and AMD64 installs). Newly installed Sabayon, create new profile, then
clicking on "Edit" crashes it right after an xnest window appears. Very
frustrating - especially since this would be a GREAT tool for the 6
schools I have

Using the boot option 'acpi=off' helped me boot the latest gutsy kernel
(2.6.22-14-generic). However the kernel also complains about the PnP
BIOS and suggests adding 'pnpbios=off', which makes the message
disappear. 'hpet=disable' doesn't have any effect on my computer.

for people who do). Bumping over to cdebconf.

As mentioned, none of the workarounds solved the issue for me on Fiesty
or Gutsy and I was left with powersave during boot. Tonight I have
downloaded the fresh Hardy Alpha 3 image (alternative 64bit) and done a
clean install. I still have the same symptoms - the fix in Hardy does

Please note I have reproduced this on 7.04. If needed I can attempt to
reproduce the bug on a newer version, but I haven't had the time and it
should still be fixed on 7.04 anyway.
