I can also confirm this. Running Gutsy on a Dell XPS M1210 laptop with

If the screen saver is on less than 10 minutes I am fine. If more than

Actually, I think this should be put to the Ubuntu team, instead of the
Kubuntu team.
I believe the issue is that in Windows, the USB port is powered down.
While in Kubuntu, the disk is only unmounted. The device is not powered
down. This means that there is electricity going to the other device.

I don't see a default pattern for handling xinetd services. I would
think the update-inetd script would properly make an entry either in
/etc/xinetd.conf for /etc/xinetd.d/.
I would be willing to try taking on that task, which would be a help for
all inetd-dependent packages. Any input here?

Alpha2 was recently released. It contains an updated version of the
kernel. You can download and try the new Hardy Heron Alpha2 release

No, there have been no backported l-r-m releases before and I believe it
to hold true in the future as well. There are other plans to provide
such backports, starting from hardy.

I can create a new profile. Sound Juicer needs to be closed and started
again to actually list newly created profiles. Then it works allright.
However, I filed this bug since users cannot be expected to insert a line like:
audio/x-raw-int,rate=44100,channels=2 ! wavenc name=enc
