OK. Burned Hardy Alpha 2 AMD64 Alternate Install CD and ran a test
install against a clean drive, following the recipe above. The new
installer failed before I could even run this test, while attempting to

I just loaded Hardy daily-live 1/1/08 on an Asus P5VD2 MX SE Motherboard
that has Via UniChrome Pro IGP on board Video and gdm
problem does not exist.
gdm works fine, on initial boot after install
and all subsequent boot up, gnome desktop displays
etc. etc., saves current desktop for use on
so do me!!

I installed Amarok on a friends system yesterday, and there is still no
menu entry, even after a reboot and severall X restarts. I'll get her to
run a dpkg -reconfigure on amarok tomorrow and see if it solves it, and

I am running Hardy Alpaha 2 with current updates as of 01-03-2008 and I
am not able to change the time zone info with Clock 2.20.1 in the upper
task panel. I sent the time via the command line but it appears to have
updated its shelf back to the America / New York time zone.

Looking at the attached "error message" this is not a bug in Ubuntu.
Rather this appears to be a problem with a custom /etc/apt/sources.list
(ie not the sources.list which ships with Ubuntu). You need to edit your
/etc/apt/sources.list file. Please see

I can confirm this bug, though my version of firefox is listed as
2.0.0.11+1nobinonly-0ubuntu0.7.4. I get the same error when I try to
