Even after copying the 32bit files into the /usr/lib32 folder, you
might not be able to set up flashplugin.

enforce the freeze:
(1) open gnome-terminal
(2) $gedit &
(3) ALT-TAB back to terminal

some data concerning the errors it was generating upon adding to the

It turned out to be a hardware bug which was fixed in the latest BIOS update
from Lenovo.

A new task is open against the actively developed kernel. However,
against the linux-source-2.6.22 task, this report does not meet the
criteria for a stable release update and will be closed. You can learn

It looks to me like SMAUG requires the package csh in order to run. Try
installing that from the Ubuntu repository. If you still have problems.
However, SMAUG is not an Ubuntu package. This question should go in the

I also had the same symptoms, under KDE Kubuntu / Gutsy. I could enter my
password at the login screen (kdm?) but by the time the desktop loaded, the
keyboard was non-functional (not even caps-lock toggled the LED), though mouse
was fine.

This is a bug, that is pretty bad.
After the upgrade (from 7.04 to 7.10), when I try to login, it leaves me
an orange screen.
No other sessions work except Failsafe Terminal and Failsafe GNOME in
gdm(login screen).

I'm using Gutsy as well, I only noticed it was apport because I had the
system monitor applet up for unrelated reasons.
The crash today seemed to be nearly identical to the other crashes I've
been getting every day or so since upgrading to Gutsy. Firefox becomes
unresponsive, the cpu maxes out,
Still confirmed in Gutsy. (example "yelp man:xorg.conf")
