What I did was an OEM-install with all settings set to finnish from a
7.10 Desktop-CD. Whenever I start the restricted-manager is crashes
(both as oem-user and as a user made by the user with the OEM setup
program). I also tried upgradi
I don't think Ubuntu and MOTU dev should take care of this type of deb. That's
the problem when 3rd party repository are used.
The only solution is to remove manually all 3rd party deb before upgrading.
It's a general advise when you upgrade your system.

pointed me to fixes the problem for me. I can now run without an
xorg.conf AND with an xorg.conf that explicitly uses the 'ati' driver.
