On another Hardy system of mine that does not have the libtool issue,
the package failed to configure until I changed the
PULSEAUDIO_SYSTEM_START setting to 0 in /etc/default/pulseaudio. I
don't know if this is a setting I manually changed or if it was once
defaulted to 1.

I installed the driver from source as suggested, but this did not fix the
problem. Graphics are still very slow when the screen is rotated.

I fixed it with an hex editor (ghex2), but there is no problem with the
${prefix} thing.
The binariy contains:

I am having the same problem with 7.10.
I have a very old and dark HP D2808 monitor.
In my /etc/X11/xorg.conf file, I have set this line
Gamma 1.6
to adjust the gamma correction.
However, in Ubuntu 7.10 Gutsy Gibbon, XVideo does not respect the X
Window system-wide gamma correction setting.

Just after sending the comment I realized a lot of things are missing in
that script. It does dock, but then disconnect doesn't work. I think
this script fixes it:

I can also confirm this bug, on both Ubuntu and Xubuntu. So this bug
appears to be a general issue, not specific to Kubuntu. The symptom is,
as with all others, that the light on USB drives stays on after
unmounting.
There seems to be no data loss, the issue is only 'aesthetic'. However,

started coming up, as apport has recently been turned on, and the user
is mistaking each individual crash as one recurring crash.
