The crash I mentioned in my previous post only occurs when I use the "standard
VGA card with Boch extentions" as video card.
I've switched to the "Cirrus Logic GD 5546 PCI VGA Card" and now Gutsy boots
just fine.

I had the problem with Kubuntu 6.06, now I have migrated to Ubuntu. In
Ubuntu 7.10 the bug doesn't seem to occur.
If there have been no replies for some time, I'd suggest marking the bug

Same problem for me. I'm using yakuake on gutsy (in gnome), on an
athlon 1800+ (ia32) with an nVidia geForce3. I'm not sure if the same
problem was there in feisty, because I didn't start using compiz-fusion
regularly until gutsy. I've been reproducing it reliably (usually takes
a few seconds)
I don't encounter much this problem myself because I don't mess much
with config files, but I feel at ease to draft a spec based on previous
comments. I'll check nothing similar is already proposed, and draft one
if not, posting the link here.

I installed Gusty fresh on my pc and was working well with a OEM Dell
DVD-R Drive. Then I upgraded it to this Plextor PX-760A with 1.06
firmware on it and I have the same problem as described above. Won't

For me it looks like, the problem is not located within the gdesklets
code, rather somewhere in the bindings. Ubuntu seems to link it agains
python 2.4.x. At least for x86-64 systems. It'd be interesting if
someone could remove the pygtk bindings, compile it, link it against
python 2.5.x and gdeskl

Andreas told me that it's probably related to GTK+ but so why it's not
the same configuration which is opening in eog and gnumeric?
In eog you have from "page setup" the possibility to choose landscape.
with gnumeric you have to do another action and choose "page setup" and
