I agree Awen, it would anyway be very wise to bring a .1 release out
after a month or two, most of the serious bugs that were found in the
official release will then be fixed in a .1 release. The upgrade-manager
is also broken though, see https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/154771 for
more details.

The vesa driver does not support wide-screen resolutions. 1400x1050 is
probably the highest resolution provided by the vesa standard on your
hardware.

FYI: I think for the next release, external sources should be disabled

Installed Gutsy (full release) on my 13"Macbook and no wireless
interfaces come up at all.
Kernel modules ath_pci, ath_hal, wlan don't get loaded at bootup and

My Thinkpad T60 also does not boot after an upgrade to Ubuntu 7.10 with

Ok. I tried backing out initramfs-tools and recreated the initrd. This
didnt help. I was able to capture the debug output. I did this by
appending `debug' at the kernel command line in grub. The attached is
the output generated in /tmp/ of the initramfs.

I linked this to NTP, since that's where I think the issue is. I also
linked it to gnome-system-tools, which contains the time-admin applet; I
don't think that's the problem, but someone there might now how to look

AFAIK, if Beagle is correctly installed then it should be used before
tracker unless ubuntu has patched it (I know they did patch it to fix a
bug with tracker).

When I upgraded from Feisty to Gutsy, I noticed that my NTFS partition
was no longer being mounted at startup. The NTFS partition is on a
striped array using DMRAID, along with several ext3 partitions (all of
which mounted ok). The NTFS partition (/dev/mapper/nvidia_effeccbe1)
This "trick" works only for compiz's workspaces that it's indipendent from
Ubuntu applet's workspaces.
You can change compiz's workspace with a rotation of mouse-wheel action
(up/down), or ctrl+alt+left/right arrow or use CCSM to assign a personal
keypressing sequence.

I can confirm this error too. I have a lenovo x61t and I am
experiencing the same problem with the volume buttons. I can't turn off
the volume through the volume button and the buttons to reduce/increase
the volume range between 75 and 96. The value of 75 and 96 changes if I
change the master volu

A cat /proc/cpuinfo and the relevant parts of dmesg probably wouldn't
hurt. Just a wild shot in the dark, but might it be a hyperthreading-
issue? If you haven't got anything else to do, see if you have
hyperthreading enabled in BIOS and if so if it can be disabled.
