users). When logging with a local user and the network disabled all is
ok, but if the network is enabled the panel freezes on login and the
fast-user-switch-applet task runs at 100%. Now, I can't remove the

I can now confirm that compiling alsa drivers is not necessary on the
Dell Latitude D630. Installing linux-backports-modules and adding
"options snd-hda-intel model=dell-m42" in /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base
activates sound at a stable volume. Hibernate and sleep also work and
muting when headphones ar

To enale the package system-wide, as before, this command is needed:
sudo vim-addons -w install latex-suite

I am able to reproduce this with the latest update of OpenOffice in
Gutsy AMD64. OpenOffice.org also freezes whenever I try selecting
anything from the "Format" menu.
It did work prior to my last update. The version of openoffice.org-core
I now have installed is 1:2.3.0-1ubuntu5

Did another attempt at this today (hey, it's Gutsy day!) and after a
painful wait for 650+ megs of debs to be downloaded the upgrade seg
faults as usual. I used dpkg -i to install the failing package (app-
install-data), succeded. Made another dist-upgrade but in vain. This
time it was dpkg who fai
