I have a similar problem. No 915resolution isn't needed anymore and xrandr
lists the native resolution of 1366x768 but 1024x768 is used on start and saved
in xorg.conf. This happens since changing from i810 to intel driver in Gutsy.
It is no problem to change to the correct resolution with "Scre
Can confirm here on Gutsy with latest updates with two Samsung SP1614C in the
system.
gparted crashes whenever refreshing devices, either manually or after having
completed an operation (which seems to work fine, though).

W00t! You are right! I changed to default theme and now works just fine
even power point and firefox 3(which also crashed on many pages).
Everyone having this problem please change to default gtk-themes. As
this solution is just a workaround I don't think it should be closed

Ok, since the 1368x768 vsize problem seems to be fixed through changing
to new Intel driver in Gutsy this could be closed. There is still the
wrong resolution recognition in Gutsy (1024x768 instead of native)
since the new Intel driver but this is a different issue and reported

This patch mostly fixes it for me . . . I can now confidently close the
lid to suspend, and open it without a crash.
The only issue is that the call to chvt after resume does not always
work, so sometimes I need to switch vts manually. But it sure beats
having the machine lock-up.

change the line Driver "i810" to Driver "intel" under Gutsy in your xorg.conf.

is that under system/preferences/appearance if you press the "customize"
