attach the output of "mount"? The only way I see that evms would be

I also have the problem with flash sites. Any site with a flash on it makes my
firefox to freeze for a few minutes and then it works again. So it doesn't

It does indeed. It was probably enabled by default after bug 102807. I
would suggest that, unless the bug can be fixed quickly, it is more
important that openoffice works properly (as its the default office pack
in (K)ubuntu) than it is that WINE etc. can fullscreen properly, so for

showing the icon on charge/discharge only was the default in edgy and
feisty as well. during gutsy development this setting wasnt applied so
you might have noticed the change of the defaults somewhere along the
lines, i guarantee you that g-p-m wont touch your user defaults in
~/.gconf :)

More info: With some packages there are broken dependencies. All the
process was done using the official process; this is, updating 7.04 to
latest and then updating using Adept. Adept is not prepared to ask for
strange situations like this, so I only can continue using the terminal:

i use the following workaround. when jigdo got all the files that are still
available i rename the .iso.tmp to .iso and i download the .torrent.
then i start btdownloadcurses.bittornado ubuntu-xxx.torren

I can confirm this sort of thing. Open a terminal and do:
for i in `seq 1 300` ; do ( zenity --info & ) ; done
If compiz is running, you will eventually get back to the gdm login
screen in a new X. If metacity is the window manager, things are okay.
