dhclient report from Gutsy Beta Kubuntu showing wired connection but
desktop network manager icon still shows no connection and Konqueror
does not connect to the internet.
Do note Configure Network Connection does not show anything before
dhclient. After dhclient it does show eth0, it's IP addres

I did "ls -l" and it wasn't bashing out anything in the directory, it
was just hanging there. I got impatient and CTRL+C'd about 3 times, then
I got the command-not-found kaboom. Last time I checked "ls -l" is a
real command. I hope that was some help to what you were looking for.

Yes, I tried creating a new user, deleting all of its dotfiles, and just
locking the screen I can press alt+f2, or rotate the cube, etc.
These are the packages I got. Apt says no newer version is available,
however that "0.5.2" for compiz-fusion-plugins-main" seems sensible.

emerald crashed with no reason. I did not change anything in compiz or
change any visual effects, it was working fine but all of a sudden it

I was having the same symptoms described here, and I fix them removing evms.
