I think I probably rejoiced prematurely :-(
The tuifly.com and wengophone.com URLs above still crash the latest
gutsy firefox (I think it probably has something to do with flash,
though). yahoo.fr does not crash. I got things mixed up because at
least tuifly.com and IIRC wengophone.com did work

I have the same problem. In my case, the installer offered the extra
D-Link card as the second option in its list (don't know if the ordering
is relevant), and the installed system wanted to use the VIA card
integrated onto the motherboard. The VIA card doesn' t have a cable
attached, since it work

I ended up going through Synaptics and installing the compizsettings-manager.
Once installed I went into the app and turned on cube and cube-rotation. It
works now.
Hope this helps fix the bug.
BTW I think the bug is correct even for Gusty as Desktop Effects do appear as a
tab in the Appearance

Install virtualbox-ose via Adept Manager under Kubuntu Gusty Tribe 5 and
try to start any newly created virtual machine. This is what u get:
VirtualBox kernel driver not installed. The vboxdrv kernel module was either
not loaded or /dev/v

Copy the Gutsy install CDROM content to the HDD and boot to HDD to do
install. Works ok.
What is broken:
If you boot to a (in this case newer daily build) Gutsy install CD, it finds
and mounts the HDD image (older).
