I'm using Gutsy on my desktop. I just tried upgrading my laptop for the
first time in months ... and it turned off the Broadcom driver which
meant that my wireless connection that was working before the upgrade
was turned off. And it won't work as an Ubuntu box until I plug it in

Unfortunately CTRL+ALT+F2 does not work. However I think that the laptop
is still alive, as it requests a DHCP lease, when a network cable is
connected, after X have started. Is it possible to have the LiveCD start

disabling all modules and deleting the ' Section "DRI" ' leads to
nothing: No start with the 2.6.20-Kernel.
But as i deactivated the whole Module-section i had to start with strg-
alt-f2 (or 2?). Ubuntu didn't start in the grafic mode. Therefore i
copied the backup-file to xorg.conf.

This is due to the fact that Audacious 1.3 attempts to determine what
codec is used for the stream (thus enabling AAC+ streams). 1.2 just
handed everything remote off to the MP3 decoder unless it ended in .ogg.

changing the bios settings changes the situation :)
there is some sound to be hared under a loud "beep"...
Enabling the modem under the bios settings enabled the sound, but the
driver does not init the device properly...
