I don't know why the program crashed. It was a new installation on a
Dell M70 notebook (2GB RAM, 256MB Video). Upon reboot the application
seems to be working okay. I have since used the application without
further incident.

There are plenty of ways for a local user to DoS a system, so I would
consider this not to be a security bug.
This bug, as already found, is a bug with evms. For Gutsy, evms has
been moved out of "main" since it causes more problems than it solves.

I found that I can run movies with totem like this:
