A few corrections:
At startup we scan folders only not files - we need folders in order to
place inotify watches on them.
The parent folders mtime alwyas changes whenever a file underneath it
changes so we dont need to scan files unless folder has changed, When we
have a proper kernel notifcation

copied temporarily into a fresh one to eliminate fragmentation)

It is a bug wish, wich will affect a lot of stuffm but

what ubuntu version are you using? Fiesty / Gutsy?
I have seen this on Gutsy as well. I do a
sudo /etc/init.d/networking restart
and then KNEtworkmanager initializes correctly. Can you see if this works for
you?

talking with stdin on IRC came to know that one can add id to stuff so
fstab knows ownership but first have to find one's id
id -u on CLI gave me my id
id -u = 1000
then added that :-

I have gutsy and I don't see this problem. KNetworkMgr starts up every
time and connects to wireless every time (after asking KWallet password)
When right-click on knetwork manager on systray and 'quit' it will ask
you 'start during startup?'. Did you see that?

@Jacob: -i810 and -intel have a different codebase, both need to get
fixed and both work now. There is a bug in the intel driver though that
makes video playback crash on older cards (i830, i915), but those cards
work fine with the i810 driver.

I ran PenguinTV from a terminal window. The GUI starts to load then it
seqfaults. I've attached a screenshot.
When I try to use gdb with PenguinTV to get a backtrace gdb says
"/usr/bin/PenguinTV": not in executable format: File format not recognized". I
guess this is because PenguinTV is writte
xmame isn't maintained anymore
you should use sdlmame instead.
(but sdlmame 0.117 isn't packaged yet)
