start using the evdev driver I forgot that I changed something else in
xorg.conf and once I changed it back I no longer have a problem

I made another backtrace today. Nautilus hangs at the point where the
crash occurs when it is attached to gdb. I assumed that the problem has
occurred at that point and called the backtrace command of gdb. After
quitting gdb, nautilus was again responsive.

different audio chipset than the original reporter on this bug and is

This seems to have been fixed in gutsy. I can now use the UUID form in
/etc/fstab for my swap partition.

Fresh install. You can play the stream and here sounds? Do you have a
libtotem-plparser.so.1? (seems to exist when I check a feisty
installation).
I'm not sure how different engines correlate to this.
