I've said this like a thousand times before: UBUNTU NEEDS TO UPDATE TO
UPSTREAM TRANSLATIONS VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY OFTEN. These Ubuntu
issues are extremely annoying and make me feel worthless. I contribute
LOTS, and I mean LOTS of my valueable free time to open source
development and translation
I have exactly the same problem. The idea of the search system is very
good and very good-looking, but not showing the folder of the searched
file, makes it very useless (I was looking for a file, because I have to
copy other files in the same folder. I search it by name, but the only
options once
I finished the install, rebooted the computer and enable remote desktop
on XP. I runs pretty snappy and the system doesn't show a lag anymore.
I think it is working well. This bug can be closed... I will add a
feature request for the symlinks.

When running Bastille for the first time, it says I can jump around by
clicking on an item on the left-side menu (in the GUI). However when I
did this I had my CPU running at a Load Average of 7, with Perl being
the top process, for over 5 minut
Correct me if I am wrong, but this seems more like an issue with the way
Windows handles filename case, not SMB/Ubuntu.
I do not experience the same issue with Sharing Linux -> Linux.
Not that it takes away the issue, just not an issue on our end.

I can confirm this also with a IBM X41, on the latest gutsy x86.
For me, this is a regression from Feisty and, I think, early Gutsy.
What happens for me though, is that pressing Fn+Home takes my screen
very quickly through all the levels to full brightness, and Fn+End to

I take back my last question: it does seem to be a problem with gpm not
acknowledging to the X server that it has handled the events.
xev shows that only two events (one key down, one key up) are seen when
gpm is not running, whereas it shows multiple events when gpm is
running.

I noticed that my cpu frequency scaling was broken recently. This is
annoying because I have a 1.96Ghz and instead of being stuck at this
speed, it is stuck at minimum speed (800 Mhz).
I saw this in my dmesg (may be the problem):
