Don't know if it has anything to do with the problem, but I also get
this error (after the connecting process begins, ie after I switch the
radio button off and on) :

Just for the record, so far, every time I have tried clicking the left
and right buttons at the same time, the problem goes away. So this is
an easy workaround

I've just tested the very-wide png on my system. (Feisty)
It doesn't really 'hang' but rather takes full CPU for quite some time (3
minutes over here, I guess depending on specs YMMV)
During that time none of the 'nautilus-managed-windows' are being updated (so
it surely feels like system locks

Good afternoon, Yes I do believe that it is the same bug as described by the
other users. The message on the screen says that the system will halt but
never physically switches off. It worked fine on version 6.06 but not on
7.04.
