I just encountered this same issue on a new Feisty (7.04) install when I
attempted to create a user name of "staff". As is default in Ubuntu,
USERGROUPS=yes in adduser.conf so each new user gets their own group.
The group "staff" is a Ubuntu default with a GID of 50 so it couldn't be

This feature is almost done for gutsy. Sorry it didn't make it for
feisty.
Initial code has been submitted, although the feature still lacks
support for a configuration file (It will be done soon).

variables when you bootwould it be possible to create a new user on
your box? this would help eliminate something to do with the user
profile your currently using...

I'm sorry but can can reach other websites without any problem, so I
don't think that it's a local DNS configuration error. Moreover, I am
able to ping it, and ping is displaying the resolved IP address.
