Actually no I am not using mesa and nv. I am using the openchrome

I had the same problem on a 32bit P4 HT architecture. Nothing I tried
solved the problem for me. Disabling TSO as suggested in

however no sound is coming from the rear speakers. There is no option
to duplicate front speakers like many onboard systems have. This
feature needs to be added and the PCM Rear sliders will have some use.
