I have the same problem, and the TS-L632D dvd drive in my laptop (ASUS Z35FM).
Seems like you all had good results with updating the firmware. I would like to
do this also, but the problem is all the methods explained for updating the dvd
drive's firmware require windows and I don't have windows

I installed cluster management by accident via the graphical Add/Remove app. I
use 7.04.
It installed CLVM, system-config-cluster, cman and so on packages. I am having
trouble removing CLVM.

Strangely enough, it stopped working after two days and I can not get it
working again. As I have a WindowsXP partition on the same machine,
maybe it depends on Windows settings some magic flags or crashing while
the sound is active...
