hibernate worked and on resume I would be greeted with a locked screen,

Same on my Computer with Kubuntu Feisty Fawn with latest updates and a
NVidia 6600. Please find attached the needed information. I'm using the
binary-only Nvidia Driver 1.0.9755. The xorg.conf is an unmodified and
autogenerated version from nvidia-settings.

I did a clean install of Feisty on Toshiba A110-133 laptop after having
several previous versions of Ubuntu. Even though I never had sound
problems before, this time sound doesn't work. I booted 6.06 from cd
(sound works) and compared its aplay -l output to Feisty's.
6.06 Dap
This happens on an Intel 965wgh motherboard. You receive the error (as
detailed above). After boot, an ifconfig shows everything is working
correctly (kernel sees interface, etc.) however, nothing works.

governor is not one of three supported (Dynamic/Powersave/Performance).

Yes, I changed my cpufreq governor: that was the problem.
With ondemand it worked fine, while with conservative it crashes.
With your patch, it does not crash, it just prints a warning:
