Hi, Just to let you know, I created a patch which fixes the problem under Ubuntu. The same patch may fix the problem under Gentoo, also. The problem is with the USB audio driver. I simply added a usb device entry which explicitly calls out the vendor and product ID's for the Quickcam Messenger.
