I've got a very similar problem with my Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Xi1526.
The soundcard is Intel-hda with Realtek ALC880.
On Edgy I have the problem that speakers and headphonejack were switched (see
BUG 71737).
Now after upgrading to feisty there was no sound at all.

I don't have it. I burned an ISO and installed ran the live CD from there.
After about an hour of mucking around I deleted the ISO and binned my Ubuntu
CD.

I switched back to Ubuntu's Nvidia driver now. I do understand kernel
developer's hate for non-gpl drivers and Ubuntu's hate for drivers that

isntalled using the selfcontained package downloaded from nvidia. And this
ofcause failed as well. So the only solution is to uninstall the nvidia driver

Trying if VLC would play an ISO Archive (is actually a DVD), it crashed.
If this is not considered a bug, consider it a feature request. VLC
should be able to play a DVD even though it is not actually mounted but
instead use an ISO image.

Sorry about logging the error in the wrong place. I followed the links from
the Kubuntu site which lead me to malone.
If you can confirm where exactly I should have logged this then I will
ensure I don't make this mistake again.

itself and you were trying to unmount the CD in a way compliant with

This is NOTGNOME. It is an issue with your x server (if it is xorg, file a bug
against xkeyboard-config component).

I sufferred from a similar problem:
* firefox64 worked fine, with or without ipv6.
* firefox32 only worked with ipv6 disabled in network.dns.disableIPv6
I have firefox32 installed in a chroot of feisty. The problem didn't
exist with edgy.
