This problem exists still in Feisty. I have both Gnome and KDE installed
and I use Gdm. In Ubuntu 6.10, all was fine. But now: Only Logout
Option. When I choose it, I get a black screen and the pc freezes.

I followed the instructions on the upgrade page to update from 6.06 to
6.10 using update manager.
The download completed, but the files failed to install, telling me that
it it probably left my system 'in an unusable state', and that ought to
file a bug report for update man

hald uses up to 20% of my cpu when I plugin the usb-receiver of my
microsoft (sorry... ;-) wireless optical desktop 3.0. It is a receiver
for both a mouse and a keyboard. It works ok in Windows.
