I could reproduce this. No mather if I click on the Reload list button in the
Add/Remove section or not, when trying to install Ubuntu Restricted Extras I
get the following:
1. It starts to download packages, and then suddenly stops, Ubuntu Restricted

Yes, it DOES need to be installed by default. My HP PSC 1610 was not
automatically detected by HPLIP because this was not automatically
installed. And it's also not just a Kubuntu thing. I'm using Ubuntu.
Pascal, CUPS may have been able to figure out my printer, but HPLIP is

box' with my Wacom Graphire tablet, both in Live CD and installed modes.

Txwikinger is right in its explanations of my intentions for this bug report,
it is for consistency with all others usages of hwclock command in the script
(I'm sorry, I should have explain that in my report). It's not critical, and
again less critical in this case because the flag is "--adjust"
Just installed the BETA FEISTY version on my lappy. To my big surprise the ETH0
is not being recognised. Which worked flawlesly in Edgy and Dapper.
This lappy uses the R8169 chispet for its NIC and when doing lsmod the 'r8169'
module is loaded but nothing is using it.
'ifup eth0' reports that ETH
Same thing happens for me on feisty.
This is at best a really bad usability bug.

First I forgot to add that I have feisty-security, feisty-backports,
feisty-updates and feisty-proposed enabled as repositories.
I tried to get the rhythmbox package compiled with GDB support from
deb http://people.ubuntu.com/~pitti/ddebs feisty main universe
but it seems there's a depende
I also tried it with the GENERIC kernel and the same error happens. I do not
know how to provide verbatim reports since the system will note recognize
'dmesg'
And it halts at trying to mount my home EXT3 partition. From there on I get a
bunch of errors and I am throwed to CLI.

I am having a similar problem. I've installed Edgy and made an encrypted

More feedback from Hobbsee, the progress dialog now stays open for atleast 1
second.
That way it doesn't just "flash" at the user when it finishes quickly.
Now most users manage to read what the dialog says before it finishes.

I was able to remember at least some of the circumstances now... seems,
when was closing rhythmbox while using a daap share it broke down

Oh and yeah, another thing I forgot to add! I updated my mom's PC from
edgy (clean install) to feisty and tested the behavior of rhythmbox
(same version) regarding this bug. It didn't crash at all but the
visualization plugin wasn't displaying anything (black window). Then
again, I'm not sure what
