Upon boot of edgy and feisty beta, the splash screen sets to 640x480
resolution. The screen is capable of 1024x768, which is what it is set

For those having problems with here's temporary fix:
Method A:
The ALSA update sets the mic input to mic number 2 so you have to return it to
number 1 for default mic. Using GNOME/XFCE GUI may have no effect. You have to
use the alsa mixer on by typing alsamixer on the terminal. Use the left and
StacktraceTop:__kernel_vsyscall ()

Ok, I tried the most up-to-date image and here's what I got:
1. The situation is exactly the same trying out of the box. It runs on my CD
drive, but fails and ends in initramfs prompt when booted from my DVD drive.
2. I tried looking through the messages as far as I could go, and there was

My vlc also crashed unexpected. It was newly installed and started for the

I tried it with, valgrind. It runs very slow (choppy audio), but it doesn't
crash somehow! After running with valgrind I tried it without, and rhytmbox
_does_ crash.
By the way; when I run rhythmbox in the console, I get this output:
ALSA lib confmisc.c:670:(snd_func_card_driver) cannot find c
Having the same problem on my X60 ... hitting Ctrl-Alt-Delete when this
happens though will skip the long wait and continue the boot-up process
(it's annoying having to intervene like this though).

same problem here. But when I insert the movie, totem starts
automatically and plays the movie correctly - but without DVD menu.

I have this problem too. The brightness as reported in
/proc/acpi/ibm/brightness is probably where the on-screen-display is
getting the value, but for some reason this is not reporting the "true"
brightness of the screen. I believe that adding the experimental=1
argument when loading the ibm-acpi m
