It is present with herd5 , I am sure of that , Stephane and I were having the
same problem. I don't know if the problem is still in the OOo version which was
released today.
And I don't think Stephane will fix this , I know himhe just works on
kernel bugs and the like . I was planning to ask
You can close the bug. As it turns out after a motherboard replacement
and a bios upgrade everything works fine. It was probably a hardware
error that only affected linux.

I'm convinced this isn't a gstreamer issue at all, but rather a bug or
"feature" in totem's GUI that resets a bad default XV_CONTRAST setting
in its interface for Intel chipsets. This could be fixed in totem or in
xserver-xorg-video-i810, being in the latter if XV_CONTRAST is given a
default value
I'm attaching a patch for this. I've reworked the sentence to say "...
start the advanced package manager Synaptic...".

That's right, installing the msttcorefonts package solves this.
But shouldn't evince give me a hint that i has to do so? Or shouldn't evince
automatically download these if i open a PDF that need these fonts? (like in

The problem is that if I login as another user I can open this file on
the same machine. I've tried deleting all of my dot files for OO.o, yet

Some usuability bugs about the gnome-keyring have been reported as
duplicates of this bug as well.
In general, I would rather expect arguments for _not_ using the latest package.
Upstream usually have good reasons to create a new version. They add
functionality and bug-fixes. I'm a bit surprised

the problem.
After this, 'update-manager -d' told me on its own to do a distrib
upgrade, but this was an upgrade to Edgy! Closing the dialog without
choosing one of the buttons (Upgrade or Quit) allowed me to start the
upgrade

I think you haven't the latest upgrades for Feisty. Describe the
systrays symbol If it is a grey icon you have the new openoffice and it
should work otherwise you have still the old one. Btw maybe you have to
remove the entry from session manager too.

The compiz via desktop-effects used to work on my Toshiba Satellite
A105-S4004 laptop on Feisty beta before a recent update. After the
update, windows would just start flashing. I turned off the desktop
effects and everything stopped fla

I have the latest upgrades. The symbol color depends on the theme chose
in openoffice.org. when you chose human it's a circle with two birds in
the taskbar. standard theme is the blue old one. Removing the entry from
the session manager doesn't help.

When I remove these lines, network manager writes (null)s for
ip,netmask,... and when I've changed my location, this file was changed
to previous state
