First, I tried updating the kernel to 2.6.20-14-generic but that didn't
fix the problem.
Second, I tried running modprobe -r e1000 and then modprobe e1000. That
didn't fix the problem either.
Third, I tried adding the kernel option e1000.eeprom_bad_cs
Works with ndiswrapper 1.40 and kernel version 2.6.20-13.21 (latest at the
moment), BUT takes about an extra minute to load. See output from dmesg:

Seems to work fine here. I printed the testpage from CUPS, HP Device

Interesting. I guess the clue was the splash screen gave way to the
error messages for you, where as for others (and me) the splash stayed
on screen - even though the same messages could be found by manually
changing VTs.

Feisty Beta still starts with 1024x768 on my 1400x1050 screen. When the
install is final, I have to manually run dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg,
which, I think, might be important to include in the release notes
before less knowlegdeable people will instantly switch to some other
distro which _does_

First, I will apply the patch to wxwidgets2.8, then I will make filezilla build
with wx 2.8 (instead of 2.6 currently).
I will also file an UVF exception request for beta7.

I copied the default interfaces file back and it didn't help. Should I try
it with just the eth0 like you stated earlier, rr does it need each device
there? I only have 2 eht0 for the wired, and wlan0 for the wireless but the
default file has a bunch of eths.

Confirming this bug, since my upgrade to feisty beta1.
Using kernel:2.6.20-13-generic. The driver doesn't load automaticly. I can
manualy enable the driver with "sudo modprobe r818x" . I can scan wifi-network,
but a connection is impossible. Rebooting the system does not load the driver,

I can confirm this, it happened with my Latitude D505 today.
Driver i810 is automatically selected, which is ok, but the upper part
of the screen is corrupted, and the mouse pointer is gone.
I installed navigating by keyboard and tried changing the xorg.conf.
Selecting the vesa driver does no goo
This seems like an ACPI problem. The 2.6.20-14 kernel should appear in
the daily ISO http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ by April 2.
There are many lib-ata and ACPI fixes. Burn the CD, boot from it,
attempt a shutdown from the menu, and report the results.

I just tried again at my home network with the default interfaces
file(attached). When I plug in the wired network I get the little icon
with two dots and the blue thing circling the front dot is green and the
back dot is blue. When I try to connect with the wireless I get the
same thing except b
This happens for me to (same stack backtrace). I don't get SEGV, but "Illegal
instruction", if that matters.
