The solution here is not gdb, since beagle runs inside of a managed
system called mono, could you just run beagle-search from the command
line, and observe the crash. Then could you also attach the relivent
logs from ~/.beagle/Logs ?

understand it, the problem was that it statically links against it's own

attach /var/log/syslog and /var/log/partman; I don't normally need
/var/log/installer/debug unless I ask for it.

On further testing, the hard drive did indeed have some faulty sectors
on it. The drive was an older 4Gb unit and contained 12 bad sectors.
Once I realized this, and the installer's inability to get past it,
the install went well.
I guess a request I would have is if PARTED in the install could
