Got the same problem - Seems to be specially prominent when typing in
here. My Cursor just disappeared for the last sentance - then in came
back split into two parts alternating. It's also left bits behind, using
arrow keys to move cursor. Guarantees leaving bits of cursor around.

I downloaded the Feisty beta alternate CD, installed feisty on my pc and
turned Desktop Effects on (wobble and cube). When i wanted to install
Amarok with install/uninstall, the install/uninstall kept wobbeling and
i couldn't select it or anything. My graphics card is a Nvidia
I performed some basic debugging and discovered at least one problem in
linHDD's source code.
At line 381, self.perc is an empty string.
Firstly, I suspect it should not be returning an empty string, so there
could be an issue with self.get_free(). Perhaps it is parsing the output
of df incorrect

I get the same errors as in this thread but on an Acer Travelmate 270
laptop. lspci doesn't have any jMicron controller listed and I'm fairly

I just tried the livecd's for both the Ubuntu and the Kubuntu 7.04 Betas
and neither one works. Although the problem is a little different now,
so it might be something else. Instead of just going blank, the notebook

After a few days of watching the logs, I haven't been able to ascertain
the cause yet. The fact that it worked flawlessly with my friends WPA

I'm moving this back to "confirmed" (but as "wishlist") just because
it's a dire-sounding warning, and others may try to report the problem.
This seems to be a known problem with the way the script runs, but is
harmless. If anyone tracks down the cause, I'd be happy to adjust the
packaging to fix

rt2570 was one of the serialmonkey legacy drivers which, as your error
message states, isn't designed to work with SMP kernels.
rt2500 is from the bleeding-edge serialmonkey CVS drivers which are more
compatible with SMP. They are, at best, alpha quality and often broken
in their operation.
