I can confirm that even after removal of the CDROM line from my fstab, I
still get a shortcut on my desktop to "CD-ROM Disc", whether there is a
CD-ROM in the tray or not. CDs are still unreadable though, when I
double-click the CD-ROM Disc icon I am taken to the burning screen, and
it's not a blan
I'm happy to give a +1. Would you please help me looking over the
incoming bugs of it? I was very busy the last days, so I couldn't spend
much time on it.

I am willing to debug, but I am not sure what you need. No actual error
occurs. I believe it is more an application timeout issue. With a
stock feisty hosts file, some applications take a little longer to start
than if you changed the hosts file as described. I timed it with

Yes, it seems to be gnome-panel crashing. Here is what I did:
1. Look at the current pid of gnome-panel
2. Pressed the Run... button to reproduce the problem
3. Looked at the pid of gnome-panel again
The pids before and after the problem were indeed different.

This error message scared the hell out of me: halway in the upgrade I
