Ok, thanks for the info, this looks pretty standard. As a workaround,
you could try to set "requiredepth" to "No" in trigger.cfg, but I can't
guarantee that this will actually work.

I haven't been able to get the crash again, and with the constant
updates I'm not sure it will reappear soon. I'll keep an eye on it

Feisty releases. Basically, it's slow because in order to figure out

Yes I am using GDM, I have not changed the GDM config myself, but I
believe something has ( I can only assume the application of a theme as
I have lost my shutdown buttons from gdm also)

You tried to use the username "staff", which I'm afraid is reserved for
use of the system. Try a different username. This is bug 47861, fixed in
Edgy; the Edgy installer will warn you about reserved usernames
